1.Q
: Is the Counselors’ Office in charge of
the volunteer business?
A: Actually, the PTA is the one in charge
of the business. However, the Counselors’
Office is the unit contact parents, so we
will offer assistance when the volunteer
team needs help.
2.Q:How
can on be a volunteer at Xisong Elementary
School?
A: As long as he or she has time and
willingness, he or she can contact the leaders
of the volunteer team, and the leader will
arrange your duty shift. But he or she need
to get trained before really be on duty.
The training is about knowing the content
of the duty, the traffic gesture, and how
to make sure the safetyof schoolchildren.
3.Q:Do you know how long has Ms. Lihwa
Lin being the voluntary crossing guard?
A: Yes, I do. I’m sure that she has
been the crossing guard for 29 years.
4.Q:Do you admire Ms. Lihwa Lin for
her being a volunteer?
A:Definitely! She began to be a volunteer
since her child was at Xisong Elementary
School. However, she keeps being a volunteer
even her kid graduated. Even though she
gets older, she never gives up. I really
admire her contribution.
5.Q:What do you think the volunteer
team need to be improved?
A:The volunteer team is actually doing
a great job at present. The only worry is
the lack of new blood. Most of the active
volunteers are senior residents form the
neighborhood. We hope the parents of our
students who are younger can join the team
to help them.
6.Q:Have you ever been the volunteer
at the schools of your children? Why?
A: I used to be a volunteer when my children
were at elementary because it was mandatory
to take a shift at their school. They are
at junior school now, and there are volunteer
team and student crossing team at high school
so I don’t be the volunteer any more.
7.Q:What are the first words you would
like to say to Ms. Lihwa Lin?
A: Thank you for your contribution all
these years! I really appreciate!
