These six groups will train their members before being in service. For instance, the Counseling group has held a serious of relevant courses taught by external lecturers. Each lecture is three hours long and the whole course consists of ten lectures.
The Story-telling group will ask senior volunteers or homeroom teachers to share their experiences and skills of story-telling with other volunteers, or hire external lecturers, authors of storybooks, or publishers to talk about how to lead children to read.
The Chinese and English subgroups in the Tutorial group will have a guidance course on keys of Chinese pronunciation and English learning by full-time teachers at the beginning of each academic year. The English subgroup will even have volunteers who are experts in English to give lectures to other volunteers.
Volunteers in the Traffic-guidance group will take lessons before they service so that members will have basic understanding of traffic gestures and conventions. Department of Education of Taipei City Government will also commission some associations to hold “volunteer traffic guide training”, so that volunteers can have a chance to improve.
