Public questionnaire

We handed out the questionnaires we designed in sidewalk and stores close to the school, and asked people to fill up. We also designed promotion posters with the introduction of petanque produced by our laptop for people to learn how to play petanque.

The questionnaire results for 42 people we interviewed on the street are shown as below:

1.Did you ever heard of  " Petanque " ？

Analysis: Most of people have not heard petanque before. Only one person have played it. Therefore, petanque is not a popular sport in Taiwan.

2.Which one is Pentanque？

Analysis: Even though most of people have not seen petanque, they could all find the answer by deleting method.

3.Do you know that there is a school petanque team in Xisong Elementary School?

  Yes : 5；No : 37

Analysis：Most resident don't know there is a petanque team in Xisong Elementary School.

4.Do you agree that sport helps physical and mental development?

  Yes : 42；  No : 0

Analysis: Everyone agreed that sport helps physical and mental development.

5.After watching the petanque video, do you feel that petanque can train the muscular strength and endurance of children?

Yes : 41；No : 0；No answer : 1

Analysis: Almost all people think that petanque can train muscular endurance.

6.Can petanque train the coordination and flexibility of children? Why?

  Yes : 42； No : 0

Analysis: Almost all people think that petanque can train the coordination and flexbility.

7. Will you encourage your child joining team joining the petanque team if he study in Xisong elementary school?

  Yes : 40；No : 1；No answer : 1

Analysis : Almost all peole will encourage their child joining team joining the petanque team.

Reflections

We interviewed passerby on the street few days ago. We went to the streets close to China Development, and interviewed many people. We even walked in glasses stores and real estate companies to interview people. We interviewed one mother with a child, and the mother showed the interviewing paper to her child sitting on the stroller. The scene was very warm. Through these interviews, we discovered that most of people knew how the petanque looks like, and only very few people did not know what the petanque is. We hoped that we could promote petanque through this action.
