Interview with Min-ron Tsu, the senior shuttleball
team player in Xisong elementary school
Mr. Tsu was one of the most outstanding
shuttleball players in Xisong elementary
school. He said he started playing it because
he was very interested in it. He had passed
two test, including kicking both shuttlecock
and shuttleball to be in the team. After
graduating from elementary school, he continued
playing it in junior high school and high
school. Now he plays takraw in the international
games. For him, Taiwanese shuttleball is
easier than takraw and shuttleball played
in the international games. It was because
he started by playing Taiwanese shuttleball.
He said it was better to start when being
young.
Mr. Tsu also mentioned that among all
the shuttleball skills, the most basic and
important one was to kick it on the inner
side of the foot. During the game, you can
win easily if you can control the direction
of the shuttleball with this skill. He also
put a lot of emphasis on the attitude of
playing shuttleball. The players should
be more serious when practicing it. He encouraged
the players now should practice more and
try to improve personal skills. He wished
more and more schools outside of Taipei
City can also start playing shuttleball.
