A shuttleball lesson
 ....................................................................
Today
we asked Ms.Yeh to teach us play shuttleball.
We could not do it well so the teacher taught
us a tip useful to beginners. We tied a
string to the shuttleball and took the other
end of the string to kick the shuttleball.
This tip really worked. The ball became
controllable, not out of control all the
time. After a while, that kind of feeling
remains, and there is no need of the string.
I think playing shuttleball was actually
very difficult. Although Ms. Yeh did not
play with it for a long time, she was still
skillful. Play with the shuttleball not
only uses the force of feet, but need time
to practice a lot. Otherwise, it’s not
possible to be good at it. If we would like
to challenge and win the school shuttleball
team, it could possibly take forever for
us to work hard on it.
 ....................................................................
Ms. Tsai arranged a shuttleball class for
us and the coach was the previous coach
Ms. Yeh. We all could not do it well, but
the teacher repeated illustrating the movement
for us patiently. She taught us tying the
shutlleball with a string in order to train
our sense of kicking the shuttleball. Although
the shuttleball won’t go everywhere in
this way, it was still hard to control it.
I just wondered how the players practice
to an extent that they can play so well.
They must make a lot of efforts. I hope
next time we could play shuttleball better.
 ....................................................................
In the morning self-study session
on November 9, all of the project team members
gathered on the field because Ms. Tsai invited
Ms. Yeh to teach us to play shuttleball.
At first, Ms. Yeh told us that the beginners
could use a string to tie to the shuttleball,
and then kick it. By using the string to
control the shuttleball, our feet might
have the different feelings when the various
parts of the feet touched the shuttleball,
in order to train our familiarity to the
shuttleball. Then, Ms. Yeh asked us to form
a circle and began to practice kicking.
Whenever the shuttleball reach whoever,
that person should kick it and pass it.
We enjoyed the game so much.
It has been long time that Ms. Yeh last
played shuttleball. She was marvelous when
she demonstrated the techniques to us. However,
she was not satisfied with her performance
for she told us that she could have done
kicking up to 200-300 in a row when she
was a shuttleball coach before.
Before long, it’s already 8:40am. We
all felt dismay because we had to leave
the practice I think all of us would like
to have one more class.
