It’s not easy to find a shuttleball in a stationary store or a sports store.  If you want to buy a shuttleball, you need to order it directly from the factory or ask the help from the school or the shuttleball team.

When we were making the interview in Xisong Senior High School, Coach Yu told us that actually we could make a shuttleball by ourselves.  Therefore we decided to try it out.

First, we measured the real shuttleball.  We found its diameter of the ball  is 10 cm and the length of each feather of the shuttle is 15 cm.  There are eight feathers in total.

Then we used two pieces of newspaper to make the ball and firmed it up with tape.  It’s done!  Lets’ see how it works!

Reflction

Except the tape-firmed shuttleball is lighter, I feel it is almost the same as a real shuttleball.  I even think it is easier to kick since it flies slower due to its lightness in weight.
